Probate Valuations
Dealing with the jewellery and personal possessions of someone who has passed away can be a difficult part of administering an estate.
Our probate valuation service provides a professional assessment of jewellery for probate purposes, helping executors and families establish the value of items as part of the estate.
What is a Probate Valuation?
A probate valuation establishes the open market value of jewellery at the date of death for the purposes of administering an estate.
This is different from an insurance valuation, which is generally based on the cost of replacing an item and can therefore be considerably higher.
We can assess individual pieces or larger jewellery collections and provide the appropriate valuation documentation for probate purposes.
Jewellery We Can Value
We can assess a wide range of items, including:
- Gold and precious metal jewellery
- Diamond and gemstone jewellery
- Engagement and wedding rings
- Antique and vintage jewellery
- Watches
- Individual pieces or larger collections
If you're unsure about an item, you're welcome to bring it with you for us to assess.
A Considered & Professional Service
We understand that probate valuations are often required at a sensitive time. Our aim is to make the process as straightforward as possible while providing the information required for the administration of the estate.
If there are pieces that family members would like to keep, sell or potentially have remodelled in the future, we can also discuss the options available once the valuation has been completed.
